The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on development experience, the ability to understand complex legacy code, and should be capable of delivering enhancements, bug fixes, and change requests with minimal supervision.

About the Role

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on development experience, the ability to understand complex legacy code, and should be capable of delivering enhancements, bug fixes, and change requests with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of AS400 applications using RPG, RPGLE, and COBOL400
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and code reviews to team members
• Design, manage, and optimize DB2 databases on the AS400 platform
• Collaborate with business and banking stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Ensure application performance, security, and compliance with regulatory standards
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions
• Support application enhancements, upgrades, and technical documentation

Qualification

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in AS400 development.

Required Skills

• Design, code, and test modules using RPG, RPGLE, CLP, and embedded SQL on the AS400 platform.
• Work on business-driven application enhancements, scope analysis, and effort estimation.
• Analyze and debug legacy RPG/CL code and rewrite or modernize as required.
• Query and manipulate DB2/400 data structures, perform file-level changes, and write embedded SQL logic.
• Perform unit and integration testing; fix bugs and regression issues identified during QA/UAT.
• Update technical specs, program flowcharts, and process documentation.
• Collaborate with QA, business analysts, and L2 support for defect triage and testing assistance.
