Job Summary
Lead planning and site operations to ensure project progress aligns with schedules, compliance standards, and client expectations. Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve site issues and drive efficient construction management.
Responsibilities
- Lead overall planning and site operations to ensure timely project delivery and compliance with company policies
- Enforce adherence to ISO, safety, and environmental policies and procedures across all site activities
- Collaborate effectively with clients, authorities, consultants, quantity surveyors, purchasing teams, and subcontractors to facilitate project progress
- Monitor and expedite submission and approval processes with authorities for structural, architectural, and M&E works
- Chair progress meetings and deliver presentations to clients and consultants to communicate project status and resolve issues
- Develop and maintain master programme and detailed micro schedules for all trades to ensure coordinated work sequencing
- Proactively identify and resolve site obstructions to maintain workflow and expedite construction activities
- Supervise coordinators and engineers to ensure clear communication among architectural, structural, and M&E teams, including subcontractors
- Track and follow up with Contract Department to ensure timely awarding of subcontractor works
- Oversee submission and approval of material samples for all trades with consultants and clients
- Support coordinators and engineers in preparing method statements for approval to ensure safe and compliant work methods
- Assist in the preparation of required mock-up units to validate construction approaches
- Ensure timely distribution of all project information to site staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and involved trades
- Manage correspondence with consultants, subcontractors, and headquarters to maintain project alignment
- Maintain comprehensive testing records and ensure all testing requirements are fulfilled
- Resolve discrepancies with consultants promptly to avoid project delays
- Review daily activity reports from site staff to monitor progress and identify issues
- Liaise with structural engineers, architectural coordinators, and M&E engineers to track daily work progress against project schedules
- Conduct daily site inspections to verify work progress aligns with planned schedules
- Perform daily safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety provisions on site
- Ensure all safety documentation is prepared and available for authority inspections
- Collaborate with engineers and site supervisors to resolve site problems identified during inspections
- Accompany consultants and clients during site inspections as required to facilitate communication and issue resolution
- Monitor site work compliance with contract terms and technical specifications
- Organize and lead site meetings to address and resolve site-related issues promptly
- Inspect subcontractor work to confirm conformity with approved trade demonstrations and quality standards
Required competencies and certifications
- Recognized degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a relevant field
- Minimum 7 years of project management experience in building construction in Singapore
- Strong knowledge of construction management, planning, and contractual matters with a lean mindset toward cost and resource management
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Training in productivity improvement, Conquas, and Green Mark standards
