We're Hiring: IT Software Engineer!

We are looking for a skilled IT Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development, with expertise in coding, debugging, and system design. What You'll Do:

The scope of Services for the Onshore IT Software Developer shall be as follows:

a) Design, develop, test, integrate, and maintain application features across the Angular frontend, Java Spring Boot backend and MySQL database, leveraging AI-assisted development tools where appropriate to improve efficiency and code quality;

b) Build user interfaces, backend APIs and business logic, database schemas and queries, system integration, defect fixing, performance tuning, deployment support, and technical documentation, with the support of AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery and enhance consistency;

c) Develop and execute unit tests for frontend and backend modules, including the use of AI-assisted techniques to improve test coverage and identify edge cases;

d) Participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with the Authority’s coding standards and best practices (i.e. OWASP Secure Coding Practices);

e) Support application build, packaging, and deployment activities across development, testing, and production environments;

f) Troubleshoot and resolve application issues identified during development, testing, or production operation, leveraging AI-assisted diagnostics and analysis tools to improve resolution efficiency;

g) Prepare and maintain technical documentation including system design, API specifications, and database documentation;

h) Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, participate in agile delivery activities, and ensure delivered components are secure, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business and technical requirements;

i) Manage Tech Projects for systems operational and maintenance works together with new initiatives/enhancements that are outsourced to our existing ICT O&M contractors; and

j) Collaborate with business & technology stakeholders, work closely with external parties, ICT providers or government agencies to drive new initiatives/enhancements.

a) At least 3 years of experience as software developer/engineer or equivalent position, preferably in Agile projects;

b) Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline;

c) Strong proficiency in one or more programming language (i.e. Java/Python/.Net);

d) Strong proficiency in frontend framework (i.e. JavaScript/ HTML5/ CSS3/ Angular/React);

e) Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab CI or similar) and modern development framework;

f) Experience in Cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, et cetera.;

g) Demonstrated ability to tackle complex, abstract programming challenges with creative solutions;

h) Demonstrated experience in using AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery of product features, improve test coverage, and support continuous product enhancement;

i) Knowledge of application security and best practices in application development standards and methodologies; and

j) Experience in driving product development through Agile methodologies, leveraging Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and testing practices to iteratively deliver, validate and enhance product outcome.
