Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Mechanical Engineer with 2-3 years of experience to support mechanical engineering projects, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning in marine, offshore, and industrial sectors.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, installing, testing, and commissioning mechanical systems and equipment to meet project specifications
- Perform mechanical inspections and diagnose faults to ensure equipment reliability and safety
- Support maintenance, servicing, and repair activities for marine and offshore equipment to minimize downtime
- Prepare clear and accurate technical and service reports along with project documentation for stakeholder review
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents to verify compliance and accuracy
- Coordinate project requirements and timelines with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth execution
- Conduct site visits, surveys, and onboard vessel inspections to assess equipment condition and project progress
- Ensure all work complies with established safety and quality standards to maintain operational integrity
- Support project execution activities to achieve timely delivery and enhance customer satisfaction
- Assist in managing inventory, identifying spare parts, and tracking equipment to optimize resource availability
- Communicate effectively and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals
- Demonstrate self-motivation and a hands-on approach to learning and problem-solving in engineering tasks
- Willingness to travel locally and overseas to provide project and site support as required
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- 2-3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance, service engineering, or project engineering
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in marine, offshore, shipyard, or industrial engineering environments
- Mechanical testing, commissioning, or equipment servicing experience
- Exposure to hydraulic, pneumatic, or rotating equipment systems
- Basic knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks
