Role Description The Lean Manufacturing Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Kampung Telok Gong. This role is responsible for analyzing existing production processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing lean methodologies to improve throughput, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Day-to-day tasks include conducting time and motion studies, developing standardized work procedures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement projects. The Lean Manufacturing Engineer will monitor key performance indicators, facilitate root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. The role also involves supporting project planning, coordinating with operations and maintenance teams, and ensuring that improvements align with safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Engineering skills, with experience in high-volume or high-tech production environments.
  • Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills and Process Improvement capabilities, including familiarity with lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis.
  • Candidates should possess Project Management skills to plan, execute, and track improvement initiatives, including clear documentation and stakeholder communication.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of quality and safety standards, such as ISO systems and workplace safety practices, and be able to integrate these into process improvements.
  • Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with production, maintenance, quality, and management teams on-site.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in recycling, plastics, or PET-related manufacturing and familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, statistical software) are beneficial.
