Senior Java Developer

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Onsite/Hybrid)

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java development, Spring Boot, Microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native application development. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance enterprise applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications.
• Develop scalable Microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs with internal and external systems.
• Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and technical solution planning.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Develop database solutions using SQL and ORM frameworks such as Hibernate/JPA.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA engineers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and troubleshooting.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines and support application deployment processes.
• Prepare technical documentation and mentor junior developers.
• Ensure applications meet security, quality, and compliance standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
• Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Cloud.
• Hands-on experience developing Microservices architecture.
• Strong experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Hibernate/JPA and relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Git, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented programming (OOP), and secure coding practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Java certifications (Oracle Certified Professional Java Developer) are an added advantage.

• Candidates currently residing in Kuala Lumpur or willing to work in Kuala Lumpur will be given preference.
