Job Title: Software Engineer 2 – IT (Test Engineering)

Location: Penang, Malaysia

Job Summary

We are seeking a Software Engineer 2 – IT to support factory-facing test engineering activities for new platform launches and BIOS/driver sustaining releases. The role involves developing and executing test plans, creating test automation, validating hardware and software products, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure product quality and successful factory deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and validation activities for hardware/software products.
• Create and maintain test automation tools and scripts.
• Perform product testing, analyze results, and report issues to engineering teams.
• Document test execution progress and support defect resolution.
• Follow test engineering standards, risk management, and project timelines.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and validation partners to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in software, test, or hardware engineering.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, software architecture, BIOS, drivers, and hardware-software interactions.
• Ability to quickly learn new tools, operating systems, and technologies.
• Experience with test automation and technical documentation is an advantage.
• Good English communication skills.

Preferred Candidate

• Experience in hardware/software validation or test engineering.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or product development environment.
• Team player with good problem-solving abilities.
