Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Sales Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, preparing and submitting tenders, developing strong client relationships, sourcing railway-related products, and supporting the company's business growth. The role requires close collaboration with the Director to develop sales strategies and expand the company's market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prepare, and submit tenders through government and private procurement portals.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing clients while actively developing new business opportunities.
- Conduct client meetings, site visits, and presentations to understand customer requirements and propose suitable solutions.
- Source railway products, equipment, and materials from local and overseas suppliers.
- Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, and prepare competitive proposals for clients.
- Coordinate freight and logistics arrangements for local and international shipments.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and upcoming business opportunities within the railway and engineering sectors.
- Work closely with the Director on business development strategies, tender evaluations, pricing, and key customer engagements.
- Follow up on quotations, negotiate contracts, and secure sales orders.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
- Maintain accurate sales records, customer databases, and prepare regular sales reports.
- Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to the company's overall revenue growth.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Sales, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of sales or business development experience, preferably in the railway, construction, engineering, or industrial supply industry.
- Experience in tender preparation and procurement processes is an advantage.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop new business and manage key customer accounts independently.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding and international sourcing will be an added advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior management.
