Software Architect / Lead Developer

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Work Mode: Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced Software Architect / Lead Developer to provide technical leadership, drive architecture design, and guide system modernisation for complex enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

  • Define the target architecture and modernisation roadmap for the core C# platform.
  • Lead system design reviews and provide technical oversight across multiple development teams.
  • Design scalable, maintainable, and testable platform architectures for enterprise-scale applications.
  • Own the architecture for decoders, including façade patterns, message parsing, and protocol handling.
  • Design assignment orchestration systems, including state machines and execution schedulers.
  • Guide development teams on coding standards, design patterns, and refactoring strategies.
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and technology evaluations.
  • Troubleshoot complex system-level issues involving both hardware and software integration.
  • Mentor senior engineers and development teams, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Drive technical debt reduction and platform optimisation initiatives.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • More than 10 years of software development experience.
  • Strong expertise in C#/.NET and C/C++ development.
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise applications and codebases exceeding 100 MB.
  • Deep understanding of Windows desktop application development using WPF and WinForms.
  • Experience designing high-performance systems and refactoring legacy architectures.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server and T-SQL.
  • Experience with TypeScript for map and UI components.
  • Strong technical communication skills, with the ability to document architectural decisions and present them to stakeholders.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with telecommunications protocol decoding, including LTE, NR, GSM, and WCDMA.
  • Experience with Kotlin and Android development.
  • Experience with geospatial and mapping systems, including tile servers and offline maps.
  • Experience with Golang for analytics and cloud integration.
  • Experience with hardware–software integration platforms.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
