About CaterSpot
CaterSpot is a profitable, fast-growing workplace food platform headquartered in Singapore. We help companies seamlessly manage food for their office - from meetings & events, office celebrations, recurring employee meal programs and office pantry services.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced product builder to own the user experience for CaterSpot's customer-facing products, including our marketplace and meal plan apps. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for the online customer journey, ensuring it connects seamlessly with our broader real-world food and catering service.
This role is ideal for a designer who thinks like an engineer. You will spend your time turning customer insights into interactive prototypes — and, increasingly, into real, working code. We are shifting toward high-velocity development using agentic coding tools, and we need someone who can drive that shift: taking a design concept from idea to a functioning, production-quality frontend using AI coding agents, with minimal reliance on separate engineering handoff.
What you’ll do:
Customer Experience
- Own the design roadmap and end-to-end user experience for CaterSpot's marketplace and meal plan applications, working closely with product management to shape the broader product roadmap
- Map out the digital customer journey, ensuring that online searching, ordering, and tracking are frictionless and compelling experiences
- Partner closely with data and qualitative research teams to help frame the right questions to investigate, and to analyse and synthesise findings into clear design implications
- Work closely with the platform product team on maximising the benefit to customers from our growing AI and automation capabilities
- Collaborate with operations and account management teams to make sure the digital product supports a smooth end-to-end catering experience
Agentic Development & Implementation
- Use agentic coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) to build functional, production-quality frontend features directly — not just clickable prototypes
- Establish and refine best practices for agentic development within the design/product org, including prompt patterns, review workflows, and quality checks for AI-generated code
- Work directly in the codebase alongside engineers, submitting code for real features and iterating based on code review feedback
- Own and marshal CaterSpot's design system, ensuring AI-assisted and hand-built work alike stays consistent, componentised, and easy for others to extend
- Own the technical quality of AI-assisted output: component structure, maintainability, and adherence to existing design systems and frontend architecture
Concept Development & Validation
- Use AI tools to rapidly generate and explore design concepts and solutions to customer problems
- Prepare interactive artefacts and prototypes to bring concepts to life for testing and stakeholder review
- Conduct usability and validation test sessions to pressure-test directions before committing to build
- Iterate on concepts based on test findings, narrowing toward the strongest direction ahead of implementation
What You'll Bring
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in product design roles, working on products that face the end customer. Demonstrated hands-on experience in front-end development is required.
- Agentic Development Skills: Hands-on experience using agentic coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot Workspace) to ship real, working code — not just prototypes. Comfort working within a codebase, using version control (Git), and participating in code review is essential.
- Design Skills: Strong proficiency with wireframing tools (e.g. Figma), interaction/experience design, and maintaining consistent design systems
- Technical Fluency: Solid working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and component-based frontend structures (particularly React); comfortable reading and reasoning about frontend code, not just generating it
- Data & Research Skills: Familiarity with utilising user research artefacts and product analytics tools to inform design decisions
- Mindset: An autonomous builder who enjoys getting their hands dirty in code, working across design and engineering disciplines to solve real-world customer problems
