We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain data-driven applications and platforms, with a strong focus on:
Database design and population frameworks
Backend services and data pipelines
Frontend interfaces for data interaction
The role requires translating requirements into end-to-end system design and implementation, including the construction of data platforms and tooling to support efficient data ingestion, management, and usage.
The engineer will also leverage AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development while maintaining code quality and system integrity.
Be Part of Our Success
Data Platform & Database Engineering (Primary)
Design and build data platforms and database schemas to support structured and geospatial data
Develop systems to facilitate ingestion, transformation, and population of data
Implement and maintain databases using:
PostgreSQL
PostGIS (for geospatial data)
MongoDB (for unstructured / semi-structured data)
Optimise database performance, indexing, and scalability
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security
Application Development
Develop backend services and APIs to manage and access data
Build frontend applications for visualisation and interaction with data
Integrate frontend, backend, and database systems into cohesive applications
Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance
Solution Design & Delivery
Translate requirements into technical architecture and design
Design and implement end-to-end systems (data + application layers)
Work closely with stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver solutions
Maintain documentation of architecture, design, and workflows
Platform & Infrastructure (Supporting Role)
Deploy and manage applications on container platforms (e.g., Kubernetes)
Operate infrastructure on Nutanix environments
Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of systems
Ensure availability, resilience, and security of deployed solutions
AI‑Assisted Development
Use AI coding tools to accelerate development, prototyping, and debugging
Apply AI tools to:
Generate boilerplate code and data models
Assist with query optimisation and data processing logic
Improve developer productivity while maintaining quality
Validate and review AI-generated code to ensure:
Correctness
Security
Maintainability
Qualities We Value
Strong experience in:
Database design and data engineering
Backend development and API design
Full-stack application development
Hands-on experience with:
PostgreSQL
PostGIS
MongoDB
Ability to build systems that facilitate data ingestion and population workflows
Strong problem-solving and system design capabilities
Experience translating requirements into working systems
Familiarity with distributed systems and scalable architectures
Experience with Kubernetes and container-based deployments
Linux system knowledge
