Oracle DBA / PostgreSQL Database Administrator

Experience: 5–8 years

PostgreSQL Experience: Minimum 2 years

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
• Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and security.
• Perform database upgrades, patching, migration, and version management.
• Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery procedures.
• Troubleshoot database performance issues and optimize SQL queries.
• Perform database cloning, refreshes, and data migration activities.
• Manage users, roles, privileges, tablespaces, and storage.
• Configure and support Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, RAC, or similar high-availability solutions.
• Implement PostgreSQL replication, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
• Monitor production databases and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs.
• Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and development teams.
• Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and audit records.
• Participate in on-call or rotational production support when required.

• Good understanding of MongoDB architecture, databases, collections, documents, indexes, and replica sets.
• Hands-on knowledge of MongoDB installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience monitoring MongoDB performance, availability, storage, replication lag, connections, and slow queries.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as MongoDB Atlas Monitoring, Ops Manager, Cloud Manager, or Prometheus/Grafana.
• Knowledge of MongoDB backup, recovery, security, user access, and authentication.
• Experience performing MongoDB version upgrades, including compatibility checks, backups, testing, rolling upgrades, and post-upgrade validation.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience.
• Minimum 2 years of PostgreSQL database administration experience.
• Strong experience with Oracle 11g, 12c, 18c, or 19c.
• Hands-on knowledge of RMAN backup and recovery, Data Guard, performance tuning, and patching.
• Experience with PostgreSQL installation, configuration, replication, backup, recovery, and upgrades.
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Linux/Unix commands.
• Familiarity with database monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Good understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and database security.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to provide production and on-call support when required.
