about the company
My client is currently looking for a System Administrator (AWS / CMDB) to take ownership of their core environments. While the setup is heavily on premises (Windows, VMware, Active Directory), they are actively migrating workloads to AWS.

This role offers an opportunity to directly manage both on-premises and AWS operations, drive L2 hands-on network troubleshooting, partner with offshore teams, and help replace manual processes with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).

about the job

• Manage day-to-day AWS environments (EC2, IAM, VPC, S3) and play an active role in transitioning on-premise workloads to the cloud. Apply and expand IaC skills (Terraform / CloudFormation) to automate infrastructure.
• Take direct ownership of escalation issues across a diverse stack (Fortinet, Cisco Meraki, Aruba, F5, VeloCloud) instead of relying solely on third-party vendors.
• Administer Tanium for enterprise-wide endpoint visibility, vulnerability management, and patch governance (or transition your strong SCCM expertise to Tanium).
• Run Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware operations. Handle Tier-2 ITSM escalation directly using ServiceNow.
• Work alongside external partners and guide offshore support teams to maintain service excellence across APAC.
• Write PowerShell and Shell scripts to streamline routine operational tasks and improve overall efficiency.

skills and experience required
7+ years in enterprise IT infrastructure, with at least 2 years supporting production AWS environments.

Hands-on experience troubleshooting and managing multi-vendor networks (Fortinet, Meraki, Aruba, F5).

Direct experience with Tanium is preferred. Candidates with strong SCCM experience who can quickly transition to Tanium are also welcome.

Practical experience with AWS operations, along with a drive to adopt Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) and scripting (PowerShell/Shell).

Experience operating within Tier-2 support in ServiceNow environments. Ability to manage vendors and coordinate with offshore technical teams.
