What The Role Is

Own the design, development, deployment, and continuous improvement of digital products that deliver measurable business and user outcomes. Work closely with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders to translate user needs into scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.v

What You Will Be Working On

Product Development

• Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-native applications and services.
• Build frontend, backend, and API components required for digital products.
• Translate business and user requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in product discovery, experimentation, and iterative delivery.
  
  

Engineering Excellence

• Maintain high standards for code quality, performance, security, and reliability.
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and observability practices.
• Apply DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
• Drive technical improvements and reduce technical debt.
  
  

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product Managers and Designers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Participate in technical architecture and design discussions.
• Support user testing and validate solutions against business outcomes.
  
  

AI & Modern Engineering

• Integrate AI/LLM capabilities where appropriate.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and engineering practices.
• Contribute to reusable platforms, components, and design patterns.
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. Candidates with a relevant diploma and strong hands-on software engineering experience may also be considered.
• Years of experience: Preferably 4–8 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in full-stack development or product engineering roles. Strong candidates with slightly fewer years but demonstrated product delivery experience may be considered.
• Product engineering experience: Proven ability to build, enhance, and operate digital products in an Agile or product-led environment, including translating user needs and business requirements into working software.
• End-to-end delivery: Experience owning features across the full development lifecycle, from solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, production monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Frontend development: Strong hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React and/or Next.js, including reusable components, responsive interfaces, performance optimisation, and integration with backend services.
• Backend development: Strong proficiency in backend development using C#/.NET or Java, with experience designing REST APIs and/or GraphQL services, applying secure coding practices, and building scalable service-based applications.
• Data and integration: Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, API integrations, data modelling, authentication/authorisation patterns, and enterprise system integration.
• Cloud and DevOps: Practical experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure Cloud Services, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab/Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, automated testing, and deployment automation.
• Engineering quality: Strong understanding of software design principles, code reviews, automated testing, observability, security, reliability, maintainability, and technical debt management.
• Collaboration: Able to work effectively with Product Managers, Designers, Business Owners, Tech Leads, and other engineers to deliver iterative product outcomes in a cross-functional squad setting.
• Communication: Able to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, document design decisions, and contribute constructively to technical discussions.
• AI and modern development: Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, LLM integration, RAG patterns, or GenAI-enabled product features would be advantageous.
• Public sector / enterprise exposure: Experience working in public sector, enterprise, regulated, or high-availability environments would be advantageous.
• Mindset: Strong ownership, curiosity, problem-solving ability, willingness to learn, and commitment to building secure, scalable, user-centred products.
