Job Summary
The Associate Engineer – System Acceptance is responsible for supporting the Engineer/Senior Engineer in configuring, testing, validating, and commissioning SMT equipment in accordance with customer requirements and company quality standards. The role ensures machines meet functional specifications before shipment by performing comprehensive system acceptance testing and supporting customer pre-acceptance activities.
The incumbent collaborates closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Specialists, and the MAKE team to achieve high product quality, on-time delivery, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
System Acceptance Testing
- Configure SMT machines, modules, and software based on customer specifications.
- Execute system acceptance tests (SAT) to validate machine functionality and performance.
- Ensure all machines meet technical specifications and quality standards prior to shipment.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve testing issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain accurate testing records and documentation.
Customer Pre-Acceptance
- Support and perform in-house customer pre-acceptance activities.
- Demonstrate machine functionality and verify compliance with customer requirements.
- Address customer queries during acceptance sessions with guidance from senior engineers.
- Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the acceptance process.
Quality & Delivery
- Support On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery in accordance with the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
- Ensure 100% Out-of-Box (OOB) machine quality before shipment.
- Maintain high First Pass Yield (FPY) and minimise defects per machine.
- Follow established testing procedures, quality standards, and work instructions.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance testing efficiency and product quality.
- Escalate technical issues, material shortages, or process concerns to the relevant engineering teams.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring issues.

- Recommend corrective actions during system testing and acceptance.
- Determine machine readiness for customer pre-acceptance based on testing outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Electronics, or related discipline).
Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or machinery production environment is preferred.
- Exposure to SMT equipment, manufacturing processes, or industrial automation is an advantage.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical aptitude are encouraged to apply.
