We are looking for an experienced Backend API & Integration Developer to help build the backend services that will power our next-generation customer chatbot.

Our current chatbot (Zoom Virtual Agent Classic) allows customers to look up and cancel orders. We are in the process of migrating to Zoom Virtual Agent 3.0 and significantly expanding its capabilities through secure integrations with NetSuite and NopCommerce.

The chatbot conversation design and front-end flow development will be managed internally. Your primary responsibility will be designing, building, and maintaining the backend APIs and integrations that enable these new capabilities.

Project Overview

This project will be completed in phases. Initial work includes improving customer verification and order lookup, followed by additional customer self-service capabilities.

Planned Enhancements Include

Support additional order lookup methods:

• Purchase Order Number
• Retailer/Partner Order Number
• Phone Number
• Additional customer identifiers
  
  

Expand customer verification

• Email
• Phone number
• Other secure verification methods
• Provide real-time product and breed availability
• Allow customers to place new orders
  
  

Expand order management

• Order updates
• Cancellations
• Changes (where applicable)
• Reduce phone and email volume through automation
• Support future AI capabilities such as image recognition for bird identification
  
  

Responsibilities

• Design and build REST APIs used by Zoom Virtual Agent
• Integrate NetSuite and/or NopCommerce with Zoom Virtual Agent using SuiteScript, RESTlets, SuiteTalk, or other appropriate methods
• Retrieve and update customer and order information securely

• Order lookup
• Customer verification
• Order status
• Tracking information
• Order changes
• Order cancellation
• Product availability
• Future chatbot actions
• Ensure APIs are secure, scalable, and well documented
• Troubleshoot integration issues and optimize performance
• Collaborate closely with our Director of Customer Experience and chatbot administrator throughout development
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience designing and building REST APIs
• Experience with JSON, HTTP methods, authentication, and web services
• Backend development experience (.NET, Node.js, Java, Python, or similar)
• Experience integrating multiple business systems
• Experience working with ERP platforms (NetSuite experience strongly preferred)
• Ability to troubleshoot API and integration issues independently
• Experience documenting APIs and integration workflows
