Position: IT Support Technician
We are a small and growing company looking for a hands-on, independent, and proactive IT Technician to support our day-to-day IT operations. This role is suitable for someone with a solid IT background who is able to handle a wide range of technical responsibilities, work with minimal supervision, and take initiative in resolving issues efficiently.
As this is a lean working environment, the successful candidate must be flexible, resourceful, and willing to manage all IT-related matters required by the company. In the absence of urgent IT duties, the role may also be required to support the technician team or assist in other related operational tasks as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair laptops, desktop computers, and printers.
- Install, configure, update, and support software and operating systems.
- Set up and maintain staff email accounts and email support, (Thunderbird).
- Perform basic server support and general IT infrastructure maintenance.
- Handle LAN wiring, network setup, and network troubleshooting.
- Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, server, and connectivity issues.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to staff and ensure smooth IT operations.
- Carry out preventive maintenance for IT equipment and systems.
- Research and resolve unfamiliar technical issues independently.
- Keep proper records of IT equipment, software installation, and maintenance activities.
- Support technician team or other related duties when there are no immediate IT matters to attend to.
Requirements
- Certificate, Diploma, or relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing laptops, PCs, and printers.
- Knowledge of software installation, system updates, and general IT support.
- Basic knowledge of server maintenance, networking, and LAN wiring.
- Familiarity with CCTV setup and troubleshooting.
- Able to configure and support staff email systems, preferably Thunderbird.
- Able to work independently without close supervision.
- Punctual, responsible, and committed to work.
- Proactive, hands-on, and willing to take ownership of tasks.
- Strong sense of urgency and able to respond to issues quickly.
- Willing to learn, self-research, and solve new problems independently.
Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
