Role Description The Network Security Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Putrajaya. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network infrastructures, including firewalls, routers, switches, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. The engineer will monitor network performance and security events, perform vulnerability assessments, and respond to incidents in coordination with cybersecurity and IT teams. Daily responsibilities include reviewing and updating security policies, documenting configurations and procedures, and supporting training and knowledge-sharing initiatives with internal teams and clients. The role also requires collaborating with stakeholders to recommend improvements, ensure compliance with security standards, and contribute to continuous enhancement of OrenG Academy’s cybersecurity services.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Network Administration and Network Engineering, including configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network devices.
- Hands-on experience in Network Security and Cybersecurity, such as managing firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and implementing secure network architectures.
- Knowledge of Information Security principles, standards, and best practices, including risk assessment and security controls.
- Familiarity with network assessment tools, vulnerability scanners, and security monitoring solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP) are an advantage.
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues, document findings clearly, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capacity to work on-site in a collaborative environment, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to evolving security threats and technologies.
