GENERAL JOB FUNCTION
The BD Executive is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities to support the growth of the company's calibration services. This role involves conducting in-depth market research, developing strategic partnerships, presenting solutions to prospective clients, and nurturing long-term relationships.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct market research to identify potential growth areas, customer needs, and emerging industry trends within the calibration and measurement services market.
- Analyse market conditions and competitors to identify threats, opportunities, and areas for differentiation.
- Prepare comprehensive market reports and strategic insights to support the company’s growth strategy.
- Work with management to develop and adjust go-to-market strategies based on research findings.
- Proactively identify and generate new leads through various channels such as cold calling, referrals, LinkedIn, online platforms, and participation in trade events.
- Maintain and regularly update the sales pipeline, lead status, and opportunity tracking in CRM systems
- Qualify leads through structured prospecting techniques, ensuring alignment with the company’s services and capabilities.
- Conduct detailed needs assessments with prospective clients to understand their calibration and compliance requirements.
- Customized sales proposals, quotations, and tender documents in response to client inquiries.
- Coordinate with the technical and operations teams to ensure the proposed solutions meet technical specifications and compliance standards.
- Deliver compelling presentations and product/service demonstrations tailored to each client's objectives.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and contractual conditions to close sales effectively and professionally.
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring timely and effective communication regarding services, updates, and issues.
- Build long-term, trusted relationships with clients by providing consistent follow-up, performance reviews, and value-added service recommendations.
- Conduct periodic service reviews with key clients to assess satisfaction and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional calibration services and solutions.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of annual business development plans that align with company objectives.
- Set monthly and quarterly sales goals, and track progress against KPIs including revenue targets, conversion rates, and new account growth.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and pipeline updates for senior management review.
- Collaborate with management to refine pricing strategies, service packages, and value propositions based on client demand and market competitiveness.
- Represent the company at trade exhibitions, technical seminars, industry conferences, and professional networking events.
- Promote the brand by building and maintaining a network of business contacts, strategic partners, and influencers.
- Actively seek out speaking or sponsorship opportunities to enhance company visibility within target markets.
- Coordinate with technical, customer service, and operations departments to ensure service quality and timely delivery of calibration projects.
- Provide the internal team with accurate and up-to-date client information, job scopes, and project timelines.
- Work cross-functionally to resolve client issues efficiently and propose solutions that meet both client expectations and internal capabilities.
- Track competitors, pricing models, and service offerings to maintain a competitive edge.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improving sales, service delivery, and marketing efforts.
- Assist in strategic planning through regular updates on market developments and risks.
QUALIFIFCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical), Physics, Instrumentation, or a related Science/Technical discipline is highly preferred to effectively discuss metrology scopes with technical clients
- At least 1 to 3 years of working experience in business development, preferably in technical or calibration-related services.
- Proven experience in B2B sales, proposal development, and client acquisition.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Familiarity with the industries served (e.g., manufacturing, electronics, automotive, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of contracts, pricing strategies, and sales processes.
- Ability to draft clear and professional proposals and reports.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
WORKING HOUR
- Monday - Friday (8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.)
- Morning break (15 minutes)
- Lunch break (1 hour)
- Tea break (15 minutes)
LOCATION

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
