Job Summary:

The System Administrator manages physical and virtual infrastructure (Cloud, VPS), with a core focus on expert Windows/Linux administration and advanced network security. This role requires strong hands-on experience with bare-metal hardware, RAID configurations, and robust perimeter defense. Candidates must possess a deep understanding of firewall architectures across both hardware and virtual/software layers, including enterprise solutions (e.g, FortiGate, Sangfor, Sophos) and OS-level utilities (CSF, UFW, IPTables).

Beyond daily maintenance, this role drives continuous optimization of system security, monitoring, and product innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual infrastructure environments, which include Cloud, Virtual Private Server (VPS), Backup/DR, DNS, and VPN.
• Perform Windows and Linux system administration, including performance tuning, patching, security hardening, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Continuously enhance and optimize systems to improve security posture, expand monitoring capabilities, and streamline operations.
• Provide professional technical support and consultation to clients across Cloud, VPS, Backup/DR, DNS, and VPN platforms.
• Monitor and audit physical and virtual environments to ensure infrastructure health, compliance, and overall stability.
• Research and innovate by exploring emerging technologies to improve existing infrastructure and drive the successful launch of new products and services.

Required Skills:

• OS Administration & Security: Expert-level proficiency in Windows & Linux system administration, including kernel tuning, remote access management (RDP/RDC, SSH), security hardening (firewalls, SELinux), and advanced troubleshooting.
• Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with cloud architectures and components – OpenStack, Azure, and other public clouds.
• Virtualization & Containerization: Proven experience with virtualization technologies such as KVM, OpenVZ, and Hyper-V. Prior experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a strong advantage.
• Hardware & Storage Management: Strong hardware-level understanding, including the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of both Hardware and Software RAID at the OS layer.
• Networking: Strong understanding of networking concepts – basic routing, NAT, VLANs, security groups, firewalls, the OSI model, and TCP/IP.
• Scripting & Automation: Proficient in scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.) for automation and operational efficiency.
• Teamwork: Effective collaborator who communicates well within a team environment.
• Self-Sufficiency: Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and taking ownership of tasks.

Communication & Other Requirements

• Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills are mandatory for technical writing, reporting, and team collaboration.
• Attitude: Positive, professional, and calm during high-stress periods or emergency outages.
• Detail-Oriented: Proven ability to manage complex workflows and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Mentorship: A passion for teaching and a patient approach to helping junior team members grow.
• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of working experience in an equivalent position, specifically in Web Hosting or Data Center operations.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• Operating Systems: * Linux: Advanced administration of CloudLinux, AlmaLinux, or CentOS.
• Windows: Administration of Windows Server 2019/2022.
• Security Stack: Proficiency with Imunify360, ModSecurity, SSL management, and server-side firewalls.
• CMS Expertise: Deep understanding of WordPress and other common CMS platforms (optimization, security, and troubleshooting).
• Databases: Strong background in MySQL/MariaDB Clusters and MSSQL.
• Backup Solutions: Hands-on experience with Veeam, Acronis, and JetBackup.
• Web Servers: Expert knowledge of LiteSpeed, Apache, Nginx, and IIS.
• Email Protocols: Advanced knowledge of SmarterMail, Exim, Postfix, and mail security (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Scripting: Proficiency in Bash, Python, or PHP for system automation.
