Role Description
This on-site internship role for an ICT and Computer Science Teacher is based at Spectrum International School in Putrajaya. The intern will support the planning and delivery of ICT and Computer Science lessons, assist in classroom instruction, and help prepare teaching materials aligned with the school’s curriculum and values. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with lesson planning, guiding learners through basic programming and computing concepts, supporting integration of technology into teaching, and helping assess student progress. The intern will collaborate with experienced teachers, participate in curriculum discussions, and contribute to creating an engaging, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality ICT and Computer Science lessons aligned with the school's curriculum.
- Teach topics such as computer systems, programming, networking, databases, cybersecurity, web development, and digital literacy.
- Develop students' computational thinking, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress using a variety of assessment methods.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and effective computer laboratory environment.
- Integrate educational technology and digital tools into classroom instruction.
- Support students in project-based learning, coding competitions, and technology-related extracurricular activities.
- Ensure students understand responsible, ethical, and safe use of technology.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student development.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Keep up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in ICT and Computer Science education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification or certification (as required by local regulations).
- Strong knowledge of ICT and Computer Science concepts.
- Experience teaching programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C++ is an advantage.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and educational technology tools.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.
