The Role

Our Factory Automation business is focused on “Automating the World” to make it a better, more sustainable environment supporting manufacturing and society and celebrating diversity and contributing towards an active and fulfilling role. We are involved in many areas such as Energy and Electric Systems, Electronic Devices, Home Appliances, Information and Communication Systems and Industrial Automation Systems.

As an Applications Engineer, you will bridge technical expertise with business needs by applying our factory automation software solutions to help our manufacturing customers accelerate their digital transformation and improve operational efficiencies through their design and development, manufacturing, operation and maintenance phases.

Your Key Responsibilities

Customer Solutions & Technical Consulting

• Engage customers to understand their operational challenges and business requirements.
• Propose tailored automation solutions using Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation software, including:
  • MELSOFT Suite
  • Motion Control Software
  • Edge Computing Solutions
  • SCADA Software
• Develop compelling technical presentations, solution demonstrations, and Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) to validate customer requirements.
• Provide pre-sales technical consultancy and post-sales technical support to ensure successful solution deployment.

Technical Enablement

• Deliver technical workshops, product demonstrations, and hands-on training for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Equip the sales team with the latest technical knowledge to strengthen customer engagement and drive sales opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with Sales and Customer Technical Support teams.

Market Intelligence & Product Development

• Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking, and technology trend analysis to identify new opportunities and product enhancements.
• Collaborate with Mitsubishi Electric Japan Headquarters' Research & Development teams by identifying promising startup companies and supporting innovation initiatives.
• Contribute insights that drive continuous improvement of Factory Automation software products.

Your Skills

• Strong understanding of industrial automation software and digital manufacturing technologies.
• Proficiency in Linux, C/C++, Python.
• Experience with SCADA systems, motion control, edge computing, industrial software, or Factory Automation solutions is highly advantageous.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Excellent communication skills and enjoy engaging with customers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
