Position Overview

This opportunity is for a Project Engineer & Senior Project Engineer within a technically demanding engineering environment focused on major project delivery in the energy sector. The Project Engineer & Senior Project Engineer will play a key role in supporting safe, timely and effective execution across complex project activities. This position offers the chance to contribute to high-value work with broad stakeholder engagement and strong exposure to engineering project delivery. The Project Engineer & Senior Project Engineer role is well suited to candidates with solid project execution experience and a strong understanding of engineering coordination and reporting.

Role Context

This role sits within the energy sector and is connected to major Oil & Gas project delivery. The working environment is technically focused and centred on complex engineering project execution, with regular interaction across internal teams, clients, vendors, authorities and regulatory bodies. The Project Engineer & Senior Project Engineer will contribute to project delivery activities from execution through close-out.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery and execution to support safe completion within allocated time and cost parameters.
• Review the scope of work from the contract and develop relevant project deliverables, including the Project Execution Plan.
• Supervise overall project management team performance in line with contractual requirements.
• Promote applicable HSSE and quality control instructions and procedures across project activities.
• Lead interface management with internal and external stakeholders, including support functions, clients, vendors, authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Develop and monitor submission of project deliverables in line with the approved Master Document Register.
• Ensure timely preparation of project progress reporting for stakeholder reference.
• Maintain visibility of project cost and schedule performance, including forecast at completion.
• Anticipate upcoming project activities and ensure stakeholders are prepared for planned execution.
• Oversee project close-out dossier compilation and submission.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Essential: Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical) from a recognised higher learning institution.
• Essential: Registered with the Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM).
• Essential: Experience in project engineering with the ability to support delivery, execution, reporting, stakeholder coordination and project close-out activities.
• Essential: Strong capability in schedule and resource development, review, analysis and forecasting during bid and project execution stages.
• Essential: Knowledge of progress reporting, change management and project contract requirements.
• Desirable: 10 to 15 years of experience as a Project Engineer, preferably within the T&I industry.
