We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing Engineering Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining manufacturing-ready 3D product models, engineering drawings, cutting lists, and CNC DXF files. This role focuses primarily on hands-on 3D modelling using Autodesk Inventor.

Key Responsibilities

1. 3D Modelling and Product Design

·      Create and maintain parametric 3D parts, sheet-metal components, and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.

·      Develop product models from engineering specifications, drawings, physical samples, and manufacturing requirements.

·      Create and maintain configurable product models using Autodesk Inventor iLogic.

2. Drawings and Production Data

·      Prepare project, fabrication, assembly, and part drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2D.

·      Convert approved 3D models into manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, materials, and fabrication details.

·      Produce assembly drawings, exploded views, DXF files for CNC programming, and cutting lists.

·      Maintain consistency across models, drawings, DXF files, and production documents.

·      Manage file organisation, revision control, and engineering records.

3. Product and Manufacturing Improvement

·      Support new product development, product enhancements, and customised manufacturing solutions.

·      Review designs for manufacturability, assembly efficiency, quality, and material optimisation.

·      Update engineering documents following approved design changes.

4. Production and Technical Support

·      Resolve design, fabrication, and assembly issues raised by Production.

·      Provide technical support to Sales on product specifications, customised orders, and engineering calculations.

·      Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality Control, and Sales to resolve technical matters.

5. Engineering Documentation

·      Prepare and maintain engineering specifications, fabrication, assembly, inspection, and quality-control documents.

Ensure engineering documents are accurate, current, revision-controlled, and obsolete versions are properly withdrawn.

Job Requirements

·      Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design or a related discipline.

·      Relevant experience in mechanical or manufacturing design.

·      Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor is essential.

·      Able to independently create parametric parts, sheet-metal components, assemblies ,and manufacturing drawings.

·      Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor iLogic.

·      Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and CNC DXF preparation.

·      Familiar with sheet-metal fabrication, tolerances, assembly methods, and manufacturing processes.

·      Able to interpret technical specifications and produce manufacturing-ready documentation.

·      Good problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

·      Experience with CNC production, HVAC products, or industrial equipment is an advantage.

·      Able to work effectively in a team environment.

·      Able to start work immediately or on short notice will be an advantage.

Assessment Requirement

Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete a practical Autodesk Inventor 3D modelling assessment.

• Working Days: Monday to Friday (5-day work week)
• Working Hours: 8:30 am – 6:00 pm
