#NEW#Java Developer (Global Markets)- 12-Month Contract

Join a leading global financial institution as a Java Developer on a 12-month contract, contributing to critical Global Markets trading and market infrastructure by designing and developing high-performance, scalable Java applications in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance mission-critical applications supporting Global Markets business operations
• Deliver approximately 80% hands-on software development focused on building and maintaining high-performance middle-tier Java services
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to develop new capabilities across enterprise integration platforms such as MuleSoft and TIBCO
• Partner with business users, compliance teams, and senior stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective technical solutions
• Support and enhance applications in a high-availability, mission-critical production environment
• Provide Level 3 production support by troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues
• Contribute to architecture discussions, conduct code reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Champion engineering best practices including clean code, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines

Required competencies and certifications

• Strong hands-on Java development experience within enterprise environments
• Excellent knowledge of Core Java and middle-tier application development
• Proficient with messaging technologies such as IBM MQ, Kafka, and JMS
• Solid understanding of Linux, JDBC, SQL/RDBMS, XML, and in-memory databases
• Experience applying software engineering best practices, design patterns, and object-oriented programming
• Skilled in CI/CD and DevOps tools including Jenkins, Gradle, GitHub, Artifactory, and Ansible
• Strong understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI)
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience with MuleSoft or Mule ESB
• Knowledge of TIBCO and API Integration
• Familiarity with ReactJS and AngularJS frameworks
• Experience with Elasticsearch
• Understanding of functional programming concepts
• Background in Global Markets or Investment Banking
• Knowledge of SWIFT messaging
