Role Description

This full-time, hybrid Junior Software Engineer role is based in Petaling Jaya. The Junior Software Engineer will assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications. We're looking for someone proactive who takes ownership of their work, makes practical decisions, and follows through. The successful candidate will be expected to learn new technologies, follow best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in Computer Science, including data structures and software engineering principles.
• Hands-on experience in software development with React, TypeScript, and Postgres.
• Understanding of back-end web development concepts such as APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
• Experience using modern AI tools in day-to-day development to work efficiently while maintaining quality.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and basic software development lifecycle practices.
• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset, with the initiative to make practical decisions and see things through.
• A goal-oriented focus on building software that genuinely solves real problems for users.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn from feedback and mentorship.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment and communicate clearly.
• Malaysian citizen or holder of valid local working rights.
