Role Description The Audit Technical Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater Kuala Lumpur. This position is responsible for providing technical support on audit methodologies, standards, and regulatory requirements to engagement teams. The role includes developing and updating audit manuals, tools, and guidance, as well as conducting research and development on emerging accounting, auditing, and regulatory changes. The Audit Technical Manager will review complex audit issues, support quality control processes, and collaborate with partners and managers to drive best practices and process improvements. The role also involves managing technical projects, coordinating training sessions, and mentoring team members on technical and professional matters.
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex accounting standards, auditing requirements, and regulatory guidance, and to provide practical solutions.
  • Proven team management skills, including the ability to mentor audit professionals, coordinate cross-functional collaboration, and support a positive, inclusive working environment.
  • Experience providing technical support in audit or assurance, including developing guidance notes, responding to technical queries, and supporting quality review processes.
  • Research and development (R&D) capabilities to monitor changes in professional standards, assess their impact, and translate them into updated methodologies and training content.
  • Project management skills to plan, execute, and track technical and quality initiatives, such as methodology updates, system enhancements, and training programs.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, ICAEW, CPA, or equivalent, with relevant audit experience in public accounting.
  • In-depth knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISA), financial reporting standards, and local regulatory requirements (e.g., AOB, MIA guidelines).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical documentation and deliver clear training and guidance.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to audit quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work on-site in Greater Kuala Lumpur and collaborate effectively with multiple offices and stakeholders.
