ABOUT THE ROLE
WK Consortium Sdn Bhd is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our construction and development division in Sabah. As part of our growing team, you will assist in ensuring cost efficiency, accuracy, and financial control across various projects from tender to completion.
This position is ideal for an early-career professional with strong technical foundations, eager to gain hands-on experience and grow alongside transformative property developments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Cost Planning & Estimation
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, analyses, and take-offs based on architectural and engineering drawings.
- Support cost planning and reporting activities to help maintain budget alignment across active projects.
2. Tender & Contract Administration
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents, bills of quantities (BQ), and contract documentation.
- Help compile and evaluate contractor or subcontractor quotations and assist in tender comparisons.
3. Project Monitoring & Financial Control
- Assist in tracking project progress, monitoring site costs, and reviewing interim valuation claims.
- Help prepare variation orders, progress claims, and supporting documentation for final accounts.
4. Procurement & Material Sourcing
- Support the procurement process by requesting quotations and gathering pricing data for construction materials.
- Maintain organized records of supplier and vendor pricing for easy retrieval and comparison.
5. Documentation & Team Collaboration
- Maintain accurate project files, cost reports, and document tracking systems for internal audits and compliance.
- Attend site visits and coordination meetings alongside senior team members, taking clear minutes and action items.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant working experience in property development or construction (fresh graduates with a strong internship background in QS are also encouraged to apply).
- Basic understanding of construction methods, measurement standards, and contract administration.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel); familiarity with AutoCAD or QS software is an added advantage.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
