Overseas Family School is seeking an Audio Visual - Lighting Technician who is passionate about live events and enjoys working with audio-visual equipment.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting live events by setting up, operating, and maintaining audio-visual systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with lighting equipment, a creative eye for lighting design, and strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality visual production for school events and performances.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, programme, and operate lighting consoles to create visual effects for school live events, including musicals, performing arts concerts, and graduation ceremonies.
- Operate audio-visual systems, including audio consoles and projectors, during live events to ensure seamless audio and video performance.
- Set up and configure AV equipment, including microphones, speakers, projectors, and all necessary cables and connections for school events.
- Provide real-time technical support and troubleshoot audio-visual issues during live events.
- Perform routine maintenance, testing, and basic repairs of AV equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Work closely with event coordinators to deliver technical solutions that meet event requirements.
- Support the setup and dismantling of AV equipment before and after events.
Requirements:
- Good working knowledge of lighting consoles, preferably the ChamSys lighting control system.
- Basic knowledge of operating analogue and digital audio consoles.
- Familiarity with audio-visual equipment, including projectors, microphones, speakers, and related AV systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills during live events.
- A willingness to learn, develop new skills, and grow within the live events industry.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and overtime based on event schedules.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma, Higher NITEC, or NITEC in Electrical Engineering, Media Production, Lighting & Sound Technology, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in lighting operation, lighting programming, and audio-visual support for live events.
- Experience in supporting school, theatre, concert, or corporate events will be an advantage.
