The Business Analyst’s role is to work with and assist the Economics & Business Planning (EBP) Team on the development, evaluation, analysis and reporting of financial and economic models, business planning, support Group fund raising activities, and any other tasks which may be required from time to time. The analyst will play a key role in investment in the Group’s strategic planning, project financing, and capital structure analysis.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Assist the Manager of Economics and Business Planning and work with the EBP Team in:

• Economic Evaluation & Financial Modeling for the Group’s existing assets:
  • Develop, maintain and update economic models: developing reports, presentations and financial models for technical and financial analysis of ongoing projects and new ventures.
  • Conducting economic evaluations and analysis to assess the feasibility of projects and facilitate the investment decision making process.
• Business Planning & Forecasting:
  • Assist in the preparation of annual business plans, budgets, and long-range strategic plans for the Group.
  • Collaborate with technical teams in the incorporation of reserves, production, capex/opex forecasts and risk profiles into economic evaluation.
  • Track performance against key indicators (production, cost, capex, opex) and variance analyses.

• Debt Funding:
  • Assist in the evaluation of funding options for the Group’s projects.
  • Collaborate with finance, treasury, and external advisors to support due diligence and financial closing for funding arrangements.
  • Support the preparation of financing models and debt service coverage analysis.
  • Prepare financing packages, lender presentation and documentation to support fundraising efforts.
  • Monitor debt covenants, repayment schedules, and funding utilization to ensure compliance.
• Strategic & Commercial Support:
  • Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives such as new venture assessments, M&A evaluations, country-entry economics and portfolio reviews.
  • Benchmark asset performance against peers and global trends.
  • Prepare presentations, economic summaries, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Continuous improvement: Identifying areas in the organization for improvements and providing solutions as well as financial plannings to gain a better outcome.
• Any other tasks which may be required from time to time.

KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Qualification:
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent relevant qualification from recognized universities.
• Experience:
  • Relevant working experience in audit, finance, business consulting related organization, while having a career background in oil & gas industry would be an added advantage.
• Skills and Knowledge
  • Experience supporting debt funding, project finance, or working with financial institutions is a strong asset.
  • Commercial knowledge and understanding of petroleum fiscal terms and financial instruments is an added advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and presenting skills.
  • Sound business judgement and high attention to detail.
