Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
The FP&A Data Analyst is responsible for supporting financial and operational analytics through data extraction, transformation, and reporting; developing and maintaining datasets and reporting tools; and providing data-driven insights to support financial planning and business decision-making.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):
Support the development, maintenance, and analysis of the Economic P&L across regions, business units, and product groupings
Prepare and analyze monthly financial results utilizing Economic P&L, including variance analysis versus budget, forecast, prior year, and strategic targets
Own data extraction, transformation, and analysis from multiple systems using SQL
Develop and maintain datasets and reporting structures to support FP&A and operational analytics
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for financial and business performance tracking
Support budgeting and forecasting processes through data preparation and analysis
Partner with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and reporting needs
Partner with regional and business leadership teams to understand financial performance drivers and provide actionable insights on revenue, margin, and operating expense trends
Prepare management reporting packages and presentations for leadership review, highlighting key business and regional performance trends
Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities through data analysis
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems and reports
Support financial modeling and scenario analysis using structured datasets
Improve reporting processes through automation and data workflow enhancements
Support financial statement and audit requests as needed
Perform other ad hoc requests and special projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Computer Science, or related discipline
2–5 years related work experience
Experience with a for-profit manufacturing company preferred
Advanced SQL skills (joins, CTEs, data transformation, large datasets)
Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
Basic understanding of financial concepts (P&L, forecasting, KPIs)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
ERP and data warehouse experience preferred
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
Ability to work independently with verbal or written instructions
Strong problem solving, documentation, research/resolution, and data analysis skills
