Job Description

Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair of heavy vehicles and construction equipment.
  • Carry out mechanical repairs, engine overhauls, transmission, brake, steering, suspension, and hydraulic system repairs.
  • Perform metal fabrication, welding, and general metal works when required.
  • Repair and replace tyres, including wheel alignment and balancing.
  • Carry out vehicle air-conditioning (A/C) servicing, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, lighting systems, batteries, alternators, and starters.
  • Diagnose faults using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and routine servicing to ensure vehicles are in safe operating condition.
  • Inspect vehicles and identify defective or worn-out parts for replacement.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Keep the workshop clean, organized, and maintain tools and equipment properly.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Workshop Supervisor or Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in heavy vehicle or construction equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical repair and troubleshooting of heavy vehicles.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical wiring, and air-conditioning systems.
  • Experience in metal fabrication, welding, tyre repair, and general workshop maintenance is an advantage.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults independently.
  • Familiar with the use of mechanical tools, workshop equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Physically fit and willing to work overtime when required.
  • Responsible, hardworking, and committed to workplace safety.
  • Experience with excavators, tipper trucks, prime movers, or other heavy construction machinery will be an added advantage.
