Role Description The Site Reliability Engineer will ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of G2G’s ecommerce platform and supporting services. In this full-time, on-site role located in Greater Kuala Lumpur, the individual will monitor production systems, respond to incidents, and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence. Daily responsibilities include building and maintaining automation for deployment and infrastructure, improving observability through logging and metrics, and collaborating with software engineers to design reliable, resilient solutions. The role also involves implementing best practices for capacity planning, performance tuning, and security, as well as contributing to documentation and runbooks to streamline operations.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Site Reliability Engineering, including reliability, scalability, and performance practices.
  • Proficiency in Troubleshooting complex production issues and performing root cause analysis.
  • Experience with Software Development (e.g., scripting or programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java) to build tools and automation.
  • Hands-on System Administration skills with Linux/Unix environments and Infrastructure management (e.g., cloud platforms, containers, orchestration tools).
  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools, and experience designing observability solutions.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly in technical and non-technical contexts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with high-traffic, large-scale web platforms or ecommerce systems is an advantage.
  • Understanding of security best practices for production environments and user data protection.
