Project Engineer – Process Piping (High-Tech Industry Construction)
We are seeking a Project Engineer to support process piping design, installation, and commissioning for high-tech facility construction projects, including semiconductor fabs, surface treatment plants, and general industrial facilities. The role covers utility piping systems such as CDA (Clean Dry Air), PEX/PCW (Process Chilled Water), N2 (Nitrogen), and PVAC (PVC/Acid-resistant piping), from design through site execution and handover.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review process piping design documents, including P&IDs, isometrics, layout drawings, and material take-offs (MTO/BQ) for CDA, PCW, N2, and PVAC systems.
Perform engineering calculations for pipe sizing, pressure drop, and system capacity in coordination with mechanical/process requirements.
Develop Method of Statements (MOS), work procedures, and installation sequences for piping scopes (pipe racks, receiver tanks, tie-ins, live taps).
Coordinate with clients, main contractors, and subcontractors on technical submissions, RFIs, and design changes.
Support procurement by preparing technical specifications and BOQs for piping materials, fittings, valves, and supports.
Conduct site supervision/inspection to verify installation complies with approved drawings, codes, and QA/QC requirements.
Prepare regulatory submission documents where applicable (e.g., DOE or local authority compliance for scrubber/exhaust-linked systems).
Track project progress, document deliverables, and support close-out packages (as-built drawings, testing & commissioning reports).
Liaise with FAB clients and EPC teams to ensure piping tie-ins align with cleanroom and process equipment schedules.
Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline.
2–5 years' experience in process piping design or site engineering, ideally within semiconductor, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing construction.
Familiarity with CDA, PCW, N2, and PVAC/PVDF piping systems and related codes (ASME B31.3, SEMI standards, or equivalent).
Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit for piping layouts and isometric drawings.
Experience preparing MTOs, technical specifications, and method statements.
Understanding of cleanroom/FAB construction sequencing and interface coordination is an advantage.
Strong communication skills for coordinating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
Willingness to travel to site locations as required.
