Lorry Attendant (Construction Materials)

Job Summary

The Lorry Attendant is responsible for assisting the lorry driver in the safe loading, transportation and unloading of construction materials to customers' sites, hardwares and company locations. The role requires physical fitness, adherence to safety procedures, and teamwork to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the driver in loading and unloading construction materials, including cement, bricks, sand, steel bars, pipes, tiles and other building supplies.

Ensure all materials are loaded securely to prevent damage during transportation.

Verify delivery quantities against delivery orders and invoices before dispatch and upon delivery.

Assist in delivering materials safely to construction sites, warehouses and customers premises.

Obtain customer signatures and proof of delivery upon completion of deliveries.

Help organize and stack materials properly during loading and unloading.

Follow safe lifting and manual handling procedures at all times.

Keep the lorry clean and assist in performing routine vehicle cleanliness checks.

Report damaged, missing or incorrect materials to the driver or supervisor immediately.

Comply with company policies, workplace safety regulations and site safety requirements including wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Assist with warehouse duties, stock movement, and other tasks assigned by the supervisor when not on delivery.

Requirements

Minimum Secondary school education is preferred.

Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy construction materials.

Able to work overtime, weekends or public holidays when required.

Responsible, punctual, reliable and able to work well in a team.

Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Experience in construction materials, logistics or delivery operations is an advantage but not mandatory.

Working conditions

Pay: From RM1,700.00 per month

Education:

• Malaysian Special Skills Certificate (Preferred)

Experience:

• attendant: 2 years (Required)
• construction: 2 years (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:

• 75% (Preferred)
