JOB SUMMARY:

We’re looking for a Network Engineer to join our team and help keep our clients' networks running smoothly and securely. In this role, you will handle day-to-day tasks like configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, managing VPN connections, and troubleshooting network issues as they arise. You will also support new site setups, perform regular maintenance, and work with internet service providers and vendors to resolve outages. This is a hands-on position where you'll work with technologies like FortiGate, Cisco, and MikroTik, and play a practical role in delivering reliable network services to our clients.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1–3 years of experience in network support, network operations, or a similar role.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
• Experience working with firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless networks.
• Familiarity with products such as FortiGate, Sophos, Cisco, MikroTik, or Sangfor is an advantage.
• Experience with IPsec VPN, SSL VPN, SD-WAN, and site-to-site connectivity is preferred.
• Ability to perform basic packet analysis using tools such as Wireshark or firewall packet-capture tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Able to work independently and as part of a technical team.
• Willing to travel or provide onsite support when required.
• Willing to participate in standby or after-hours support when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other network devices.
• Monitor LAN, WAN, internet, VPN, Wi-Fi, and SD-WAN connectivity.
• Troubleshoot network outages, intermittent connections, packet loss, high latency, and bandwidth issues.
• Configure and manage VLANs, routing, NAT, DNS, DHCP, VPN tunnels, and firewall policies.
• Perform network device firmware upgrades, configuration backups, and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor network performance and respond to alerts from monitoring systems.
• Coordinate with ISPs, telecommunications providers, vendors, and customers during service outages.
• Perform packet captures and analyse network traffic for troubleshooting purposes.
• Investigate network incidents and prepare root cause analysis reports.
• Implement network changes, new site deployments, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Maintain network diagrams, device inventories, IP address records, configurations, and technical documentation.
• Provide remote and onsite technical support when required.
• Ensure all network devices follow company security standards and best practices.
• Participate in standby or after-hours support when necessary.

ADDED ADVANTAGES:

• Professional certifications such as CCNA, NSE, Fortinet Certified Associate, Sophos certification, or equivalent.
• Experience working in a Network Operations Centre or Managed Service Provider environment.
• Knowledge of network monitoring and logging tools.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity, SIEM, endpoint security, and incident response.
• Experience preparing technical reports and communicating with customers.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
