Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable, fast-moving, and hardworking Kitchen Crew/Steward to join our team. In this dual-responsibility role, you will be the engine that keeps our kitchen running smoothly. You will work closely under the guidance of our Chef de Partie to help with daily food preparation while taking full charge of the dishwashing and cleaning area.

Key Responsibilities

• Dishwashing & Stewarding: Wash, sanitize, and neatly organize all plates, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.
• Food Preparation: Assist the Chef de Partie with daily mise en place, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients accurately.
• Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain a high standard of hygiene by sweeping, mopping, clearing trash bins, and wiping down food prep counters throughout the day.
• Team Operations: Work hand-in-hand with the Chef de Partie and fellow crew members to ensure kitchen workflows remain fast and efficient during busy hours.
• Stock & Storage: Help receive supplier deliveries, check ingredient fresh quality, and organize items into storage using first-in, first-out (FIFO) rules.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of continuous experience as a kitchen helper, dishwasher, or steward in a cafe or restaurant environment.
• Teamwork Skills: Strong ability to take direction from the Chef de Partie and collaborate smoothly with one other kitchen crew member.
• Attitude: Punctual, responsible, proactive, organized, fast, and completely comfortable balancing both food prep and dishwashing duties.
• Certifications: Valid Food Handler Certificate (Sijil Pengendali Makanan) and typhoid vaccination are mandatory.
• Physical Stamina: Able to stand for long periods, handle wet cleaning environments, and lift heavy stock boxes or kitchen pots.
• Availability: Must be able to work weekends, public holidays, and early morning opening shifts.
• Language: Able to communicate in basic English
