A Piling Project Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling piling and foundation works to ensure the project is completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain the project master schedule for piling and foundation works.
- Prepare detailed work programmes, construction schedules, and resource plans using project planning software (e.g., Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project).
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Geologists, and subcontractors to establish realistic work sequences and construction methodologies.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly project progress against the approved baseline schedule.
- Identify schedule delays, critical path activities, and potential risks, and recommend recovery plans.
- Prepare short-term and long-term look-ahead schedules to support site operations.
- Monitor productivity of manpower, equipment, and materials to optimize project performance.
- Coordinate procurement schedules to ensure timely delivery of piling equipment, materials, and subcontractor resources.
- Prepare progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, histograms, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for management and clients.
Key Competencies - Strong knowledge of piling and foundation construction methods.
- Proficiency in project planning software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project (MS Project).
- Understanding of critical path method (CPM), scheduling techniques, and resource planning.
- Knowledge of project controls, progress measurement, and cost monitoring.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
