Senior Full Stack Developer (Java / Ruby on Rails / DevOps)

This is a senior hands-on engineering role for an experienced software developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while working across the full technology stack—from enterprise application development through to cloud infrastructure and DevOps.

You will play a key role in designing, building, deploying, and supporting enterprise-grade financial software used by banks worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

*Design, develop, and maintain enterprise web applications using Java and Ruby on Rails.

*Build secure, scalable, high-performance software for financial services clients.

*Design system architecture and contribute to technical strategy and technology decisions.

*Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations with banking and third-party systems.

*Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following industry best practices.

*Optimise application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.

*Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.

*Manage cloud and on-premises infrastructure, ensuring high availability and operational resilience.

*Implement Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, logging, backup, disaster recovery, and security best practices.

*Mentor developers through code reviews and technical leadership.

*Collaborate closely with product managers, business analysts, implementation consultants, QA engineers, and customer-facing teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

*Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).

***Minimum 10 years of professional Java development experience.**

***Minimum 10 years of professional Ruby on Rails development experience.**

*Extensive experience developing and maintaining enterprise-scale web applications.

*Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, software architecture, and design patterns.

*Experience with Spring Boot or similar Java enterprise frameworks.

*Deep expertise in the Ruby on Rails ecosystem.

*Strong SQL and relational database experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server).

*Experience developing RESTful APIs and secure web services.

*Proficiency with Git and modern collaborative development workflows.

DevOps & Infrastructure

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with the following:

*Docker and containerisation

*Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms

*CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent)

*Linux systems administration

*Cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

*Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)

*Monitoring, observability, logging, and performance management

*Production support and troubleshooting

*Application security, disaster recovery, and high-availability environments

Financial Services & Domain Knowledge

Candidates should possess strong financial services experience and understand the challenges involved in developing enterprise banking applications.

Experience with one or more of the following will be highly regarded:

*Trade Finance platforms

*Documentary Letters of Credit (Import and Export)

*Standby Letters of Credit

*Bank Guarantees

*Documentary Collections

*Supply Chain Finance

*Receivables Finance

*Trade Loans

*Bills Discounting

*SWIFT messaging standards (MT7xx and ISO 20022)

*ICC Rules including UCP 600, ISP98, URDG 758, URC 522, and Incoterms

*AML, KYC, sanctions screening, and regulatory compliance

*Core banking system integration and enterprise banking APIs

Candidates with prior experience implementing, customising, or supporting TERMS will be highly regarded. For candidates without direct TERMS product experience, demonstrated expertise in enterprise trade finance platforms and the ability to rapidly become a Triquesta product expert is expected.

Preferred Experience

Experience with one or more of the following technologies or architectural approaches will be advantageous:
