About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Migration Lead to support a large-scale Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance (D365 Finance) ERP implementation project. This role is responsible for leading the end-to-end data migration strategy, ensuring high-quality data migration from legacy systems into the new ERP platform.

You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, functional consultants, technical teams, and project managers to plan, execute, validate, and deliver successful data migration activities throughout the ERP implementation lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Data Migration Strategy & Planning

• Define and lead the overall data migration strategy for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance (D365 Finance) implementation.
• Assess legacy application data sources, migration scope, data volumes, dependencies, and archival requirements.
• Develop comprehensive migration plans aligned with project timelines and business objectives.
• Establish migration governance, standards, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate migration activities across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.

Data Analysis & Migration Design

• Perform source system analysis and identify data migration requirements.
• Design and maintain source-to-target mapping documentation for master data, transactional data, balances, and historical records.
• Define transformation rules and business logic required for successful migration.
• Collaborate with functional consultants to ensure mapping aligns with business processes.
• Review migration requirements with business users and obtain necessary approvals.

Data Quality & Validation

• Lead data cleansing and data quality improvement initiatives.
• Define validation rules and reconciliation procedures.
• Ensure completeness, consistency, and integrity of migrated data.
• Coordinate business validation sessions and user sign-offs.
• Resolve data quality issues and recommend corrective actions.

ETL & Migration Execution

• Coordinate ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) activities throughout the migration process.
• Manage data extraction, transformation, loading, and verification activities.
• Plan and execute mock migration cycles and trial data loads.
• Monitor migration performance and troubleshoot migration issues.
• Work closely with technical teams to resolve migration defects and improve migration efficiency.

ERP Implementation Support

• Collaborate with business, functional, technical, testing, and infrastructure teams throughout the ERP implementation.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by validating migrated data.
• Ensure migration readiness before production deployment.
• Participate in cutover planning and production go-live activities.
• Monitor migration progress and provide regular project updates.

Go-Live & Post-Implementation Support

• Lead migration activities during production cutover.
• Ensure successful reconciliation and business sign-off before go-live.
• Support post-go-live stabilization activities.
• Investigate and resolve migration-related issues in the production environment.
• Ensure long-term data integrity within the ERP system.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years of experience in ERP Data Migration or ERP Implementation projects.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end data migration activities for enterprise ERP implementations.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance (D365 Finance).
• Strong knowledge of D365 Data Management Framework (DMF).
• Experience with ETL tools and large-scale data migration projects.
• Strong understanding of:

• Prior ERP implementation experience in at least one of the following:
• Microsoft Dynamics 365

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional project teams.
