You are responsible for leading the design, development and sustainment of software systems that support operational users in the Joint Intelligence Command (JIC).
What You Will Be Working On
Work closely with stakeholders to understand user workflows, clarify requirements and assess technical feasibility to design, develop and maintain software systems aligned to operational needs
Lead technical discussions with engineers and stakeholders, driving decisions through design documentation, architecture diagrams and code reviews
Formulate design and testing documentation for products
Provide technical guidance, mentorship and project management to junior engineers
Challenge(s)
Working in secure and operationally sensitive environments while balancing rapid delivery with governance, security and production reliability
Leading engineers through ambiguity, changing priorities and technical constraints, while building systems that are both useful to users and maintainable by engineering teams
Understanding unfamiliar user workflows quickly and operating effectively across both exploratory work and production-grade delivery
What We Are Looking For
Education in Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
At least 6 years of software engineering experience, including experience leading technical delivery and/or mentoring engineers
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, with willingness to work across languages such as TypeScript, Java, C# or similar
Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Good interpersonal skills with a genuine interest in building good software for users
