- Provide welding engineering support to Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing to fabricate equipment in accordance with all applicable code and customer requirements.
- Conduct DFM Analyzing engineering designs for welding requirements and process capabilities.
- Evaluates new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes.
- Responsible for new welding procedure specification (WPS) development.
- Responsible for welder qualification test (WQT) from time to time.
- Conduct/study DFM, process capability study for product design and requirement. Coordinate failure analyses and root cause analysis on welding related issues.
- Oversees and assesses existing welding processes and workflows.
- Drive cost saving improvement activity. Such as Kaizen.
- Responsible to manage productivity improvement activities. (manual welding process conversion to automated welding)
- Responsible to reviewing / study processes cycle-time and collection related information.
- Develop work instructions (WI) for new process and update WI for process improvement.
- Maintain consistent application of company policies, procedures and shop floor rules.
- Maintain good house keeping and 5's.
- Adhere to all application Occupational Safety and health laws and regulation as will as such standards, practices and procedures instituted by the Company.
- Any other responsibility which may be assigned from time to time by Department Manager.
Job Qualification :
- Degree in Welding / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or 2~5 years related experience.
- CSWIP 3.1 welding inspector qualification.
- Proficiency with CAD, SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.: Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledgeable about metal / structure frame welding.
