ASTAR Management Services is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company operating a modern production plant equipped with various machinery and equipment. We are seeking a skilled SMT Process Engineer to support process optimization, quality improvement, and new product introduction within a high-volume SMT manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Take charge of SMT process control, parameter optimization, and new product introduction (NPI).
• Analyze and improve SMT process defects such as cold solder joints, bridging, and tombstoning to enhance production yield.
• Investigate mass production quality issues, prepare 8D reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Optimize SMT equipment parameters, including screen printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, stencil design, and AOI programs.
• Evaluate incoming material compatibility and prevent material-related process defects.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, inspection standards, and provide process training to production personnel.
• Monitor production yield, analyze process data, and establish defect early warning systems.
• Communicate with automotive customers and support customer audits in compliance with the IATF 16949 quality management system.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Electronics, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in SMT Process Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in automotive electronics manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SMT production processes and IATF 16949 quality management system.
• Hands-on experience in soldering process optimization and troubleshooting SMT defects.
• Able to conduct new product trials, process debugging, root cause analysis, and corrective actions independently.
• Experience in preparing technical reports such as 8D and CAR.
• Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proficient in English; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage for communication with customers and internal teams.
