ASTAR Management Services is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company operating a modern production plant equipped with various machinery and equipment. We are seeking a skilled SMT Process Engineer to support process optimization, quality improvement, and new product introduction within a high-volume SMT manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Take charge of SMT process control, parameter optimization, and new product introduction (NPI).
- Analyze and improve SMT process defects such as cold solder joints, bridging, and tombstoning to enhance production yield.
- Investigate mass production quality issues, prepare 8D reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Optimize SMT equipment parameters, including screen printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, stencil design, and AOI programs.
- Evaluate incoming material compatibility and prevent material-related process defects.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, inspection standards, and provide process training to production personnel.
- Monitor production yield, analyze process data, and establish defect early warning systems.
- Communicate with automotive customers and support customer audits in compliance with the IATF 16949 quality management system.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or above in Electronics, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in SMT Process Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in automotive electronics manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of SMT production processes and IATF 16949 quality management system.
- Hands-on experience in soldering process optimization and troubleshooting SMT defects.
- Able to conduct new product trials, process debugging, root cause analysis, and corrective actions independently.
- Experience in preparing technical reports such as 8D and CAR.
- Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficient in English; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage for communication with customers and internal teams.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
