Our client, a well-established financial services organisation in Singapore, is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join their information security function. This role sits within a broader security operations team and plays a hands-on part in keeping the organisation's systems, data, and infrastructure protected against evolving threats. You'll get exposure across the full security stack, from day-to-day operational monitoring through to newer frontiers like AI/ML security and post-quantum cryptography readiness.
This is a great opportunity for a security professional who enjoys variety, wants to build depth across multiple security domains, and is keen to work in an environment where cybersecurity is treated as a genuine business priority.
What You'll Be Doing
Security Operations & Infrastructure
Configure, troubleshoot, and support the day-to-day running of security tools and platforms across the environment
Keep an eye on systems for unusual activity, flag anomalies, and help close out potential threats before they escalate
Contribute to preventive controls that reduce the organisation's overall risk exposure
Get hands-on with a broad toolkit, covering areas such as email security, intrusion detection and prevention, attack surface monitoring, anti-malware, web application firewalls, and certificate management
Security Strategy & Architecture
Build and maintain a solid understanding of the organisation's security architecture
Support ongoing efforts to strengthen and evolve the security strategy in line with industry developments
Help define and document security requirements for new systems and projects, and contribute to technical write-ups and solution design
Emerging Technology Security
Support security controls for AI and machine learning systems, spanning data protection, training environments, and model deployment
Help identify and manage risks specific to AI, such as adversarial attacks and data poisoning
Get involved in the organisation's post-quantum cryptography readiness work, including tracking developments in quantum-resistant standards and supporting crypto-agility efforts across TLS certificates and digital signatures
Awareness, Governance & Delivery
Support security awareness campaigns and training to lift the organisation's overall security posture
Help drive adherence to information security policies and best practice
Track project milestones and ensure your piece of the puzzle lands on time
What You'll Bring
A few years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity or security engineering role
Solid grounding in security principles, tools, and common attack/defence patterns
Comfort working across scripting or programming languages
Strong analytical instincts, you're someone who can look at a complex system and spot where the gaps are
Clear communication skills, since you'll be working across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Certifications such as CISSP (or equivalent) are a plus, though not essential
