ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to develop and improve PipeScan AI’s inspection and analytics platforms.

You will work on backend services, web interfaces, databases, AI-model integration and on-premise deployment. The successful candidate should be comfortable taking ownership of features from technical design through testing and deployment.

This position has the potential to develop into a broader technical ownership role as the company’s engineering team grows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Research and develop new or substantially improved functions for PipeScan AI’s inspection and analytics platforms
• Develop backend services, APIs, databases and web-based interfaces
• Build workflows for uploading, processing, reviewing and reporting inspection data
• Integrate computer-vision and AI models into production applications
• Develop dashboards, project-management functions and automated report-generation tools
• Package applications for cloud and client on-premise deployment
• Establish automated testing, code-review and deployment procedures
• Investigate performance, reliability, security and scalability issues
• Prepare system architecture, API and deployment documentation
• Collaborate with AI, robotics and project teams
• Participate in controlled system testing and occasional site deployments

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or another relevant STEM discipline
• Experience with Python and a backend framework such as FastAPI, Django or Flask
• Experience with React, Next.js or another modern frontend framework
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with REST APIs, Git, Docker and Linux
• Understanding of software testing and debugging
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly in English
• Legally permitted, or able to become legally permitted, to work full-time in Hong Kong

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• One to four years of software-development experience
• Experience deploying a complete application
• Experience with CI/CD or automated deployment
• Experience integrating AI or computer-vision models
• Experience with GPU-enabled or on-premise environments
• Experience processing images, videos, reports or point-cloud data
• Familiarity with cybersecurity, user authentication and role-based access control
• Cantonese or Mandarin is helpful but not essential
