Company Description

Fairlight Capital Partners is a specialist capital introduction and distribution business focused on alternative investments and institutional-quality strategies. We act as a trusted intermediary between fund managers and the professional investor community — including family offices, wealth managers, private banks, platforms and institutional allocators.

As a lean, senior-led team, the person in this role has outsized influence on how the business actually runs day to day. This is a role for someone who wants genuine breadth — supporting founders directly, working across every function in the business, and building the operational backbone that lets a small team behave like a much larger one.

Role Description

We're looking for a capable, mid-level all-rounder to take ownership of business operations, executive support, HR administration, back-office functions and a meaningful share of compliance support. This is genuinely a jack-of-all-trades role — you'll work closely with the founders and across every department, and the job will flex as the business needs. It's not a narrow admin role, and it isn't a management role with direct reports from day one either. It's built for someone who can be trusted with real responsibility across multiple functions, with a clear path to a formal management track for the right person.

Core Responsibilities

Business Operations

·      Own and improve day-to-day operational processes across the business as it scales

·      Coordinate between departments — sales, marketing, and founders — to keep priorities aligned and work from falling through the cracks

·      Manage vendor, supplier and third-party service provider relationships

·      Support ad hoc projects and initiatives wherever operational capacity is needed

Executive Support

·      Manage diaries, correspondence and priorities for the founders, including meeting and travel coordination

·      Prepare materials for investor meetings, conferences and internal reporting

·      Act as a trusted point of coordination between founders and the wider team

HR & People Operations

·      Support recruitment coordination, onboarding and record-keeping for new hires

·      Maintain HR documentation, contracts and personnel files in good order

·      Assist with basic people processes — leave tracking, policy administration, employee queries

Back Office & Administrative Support

·      Manage document handling, internal reporting and general administrative operations

·      Support financial administration such as invoicing, expense tracking and liaison with external accountants

·      Keep internal systems and records organised as the business scales

Compliance Support

·      Maintain KYC/AML documentation and ensure records are complete and audit-ready

·      Act as first point of coordination with external compliance consultants and regulators on routine matters

·      Monitor internal adherence to policies and flag issues to founders and compliance advisers — not a standalone compliance officer function, but genuine day-to-day ownership of the administrative and monitoring layer

Candidate Profile

·      Prior experience in an operations, EA, office management, or HR administration role — ideally within financial services, professional services, or another regulated environment

·      Genuinely comfortable wearing multiple hats and working across departments without a rigid job description

·      High attention to detail, particularly around documentation and record-keeping

·      Discretion and sound judgement — you'll have visibility into sensitive business and investor information

·      Strong written and verbal communication, comfortable liaising with founders, staff and external parties

Desirable

·      Prior people-management experience — even informal — is a strong advantage and may lead to a formal management appointment as the team grows

·      Familiarity with KYC/AML or compliance documentation processes

·      Experience with HR platforms, accounting/bookkeeping tools, or CRM systems

·      Understanding of financial services or investment businesses

Personal Attributes

·      Highly organised, dependable, and comfortable being the person things go through

·      Proactive — spots what needs doing rather than waiting to be asked

·      Genuinely energised by variety rather than seeking a narrowly defined role

·      Trustworthy with confidential and sensitive information

·      Calm under the pace and variety of a small, fast-moving team

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

·      Founders' time is measurably freed up through reliable operational and executive support

·      HR and compliance documentation is complete, current and audit-ready

·      Operations across departments run smoothly with minimal founder oversight required

·      Demonstrated readiness for expanded responsibility — including a management track, if applicable

Compensation

Competitive base salary, reflecting the breadth of this role and scope for growth as the business scales.

Why Fairlight
