Role Description The Finance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Pine Hills International School in Greater Kuala Lumpur. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to support strategic decision-making. The Finance Manager will manage accounts payable and receivable, cash flow, payroll coordination, and bank reconciliations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and school policies. Responsibilities include preparing management reports, supporting audits, monitoring cost efficiency, and implementing internal controls to safeguard school assets. The role also collaborates with school leadership and administrative teams to develop financial plans, support fee and tuition structures, and provide financial guidance for ongoing and future initiatives.
Qualifications

  • Strong skills in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to support school operations and long-term sustainability.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting, management accounts, and analysis of financial performance for leadership decision-making.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and cash flow management.
  • Knowledge of financial controls, compliance standards, audit processes, and risk management practices in an organizational setting.
  • Comfort with finance and accounting software, spreadsheets, and basic data analysis tools; ability to learn new systems as required.
  • Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with academic and administrative teams.
  • Relevant academic qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) are an advantage.
  • Experience in education, non-profit, or service-based organizations is beneficial, as well as familiarity with fee and tuition management.
  • Demonstrated integrity, discretion in handling confidential information, and alignment with the school’s values and mission.
