Role Description The Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Penang, responsible for overseeing day-to-day logistics and transportation operations. This role includes managing inter-plant and milk run activities, coordinating fleet utilization and routing, and ensuring on-time, cost-effective deliveries for customers. The Operations Manager will monitor KPIs, analyze operational data, implement process improvements, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams, drivers, customers, and external partners to resolve issues, optimize workflows, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The Operations Manager will also contribute to resource planning, staff supervision, performance reviews, and the development of structure and reliability across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, transportation management, or supply chain operations, preferably within inter-plant, milk run, or fleet-based environments.
• Strong skills in operational planning, route optimization, and resource allocation, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent operations.
• Proficiency in data analysis, KPI monitoring, and performance reporting using Excel or similar tools, and experience with logistics or TMS/WMS systems is an advantage.
• Knowledge of safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements relevant to transportation and logistics in Malaysia and the broader Southeast Asia region.
• Effective leadership, team management, and people development capabilities, including coaching, performance feedback, and conflict resolution.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia or other regional languages is beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under time constraints and manage operational disruptions.
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Willingness to work on-site in Penang and be available for operational needs that may extend beyond standard office hours when required.
