What we're looking for

4. Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items safely
5. Good teamwork and communication skills with the ability to take direction from senior kitchen staff
6. Reliability and punctuality with a flexible approach to shift patterns
7. Willingness to learn and develop new skills within the kitchen
8. Basic knowledge of Malaysian cuisine is advantageous but not required

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Helper to join the team at NASI LEMAK LOBSTER JB in Setia Tropika, Johor. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced hospitality kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a vital role in supporting our culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests. You will work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and maintain the highest standards of food preparation and cleanliness.

Key responsibilities

1. Assisting with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping and portioning of ingredients
2. Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
3. Managing waste disposal and ensuring proper sanitation standards are maintained throughout the kitchen
4. Supporting chefs with plating and garnishing of dishes as directed
5. Receiving and storing food deliveries, checking for quality and expiration dates
6. Restocking kitchen supplies and ingredients as needed during service
7. Following all food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
8. Assisting with general kitchen maintenance and deep cleaning tasks
9. Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure efficient operations
