Job Summary

The Assistant Cook supports meal preparation and cooking under the Head Cook or Chef while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen that meets food safety standards. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Cook or Chef in preparing and cooking meals to meet quality and safety standards
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization to comply with food safety regulations
• Apply basic food preparation and hygiene practices to ensure safe handling of ingredients
• Collaborate effectively with team members to support smooth kitchen operations
• Stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights to perform kitchen tasks efficiently

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Four years of experience working in a kitchen or food service environment is an advantage
